@Felix Lang Ugh. I know B mounts are more advanced but i just can’t spend more money for new B mounts battery mounts for my sled + the batteries.

It’s rare that camera houses in town have B mounts.

How many batteries do you run with the A35?

I usually fly 2, but I have heard more success with flying 3 or more.

@Tom No, it would not. It would be far worse of an investment to house. The garage is organized and clean. The X2 is simply just too big to be practical to store in my space for the few jobs that need/ pay for it.

I might test the smaller ones with a lighter steadicam set up–within the weight range.

@steadimuc i mean. That’s been my exact worries. I’ve used the X2 exclusively so far, but it’s SUCH a hassle to transport, store, and maneuver in small places. Very restricting.

I guess this post is more curiosity of how these other guys are using such small segways with trinity builds!? I’d love to hear!

I’ve seen a lot of operators using smaller consumer-level segways with steadicam and trinity. I would think the total weight would quickly surpass the device’s weight limit. I am very interested in these size segways–the larger one that we’ve all seen for years is just far to big for me to store in my garagae.

Last time Arri instructed me to send it in for a $400 screw tightening–apparently.

Once again–my stage has some play, and I have many hours before my next shot, and need to service it myself but am told it “must” be sent into Arri for that repair. I’m sorry to be redundant but I will push again for Arri to release schematics for operator in-field gear service, specifically for the TST-2.

I second the dire need for this function as well as replicating the functions of an Omega–since many DPs are familiar and used to what that tool can do.

Also, some moves are only possible on the wheels and recording, playing back, and even looping would be amazing.

I USE a variety of camera rental house batteries from 12v 90-155w. Usually Anton or cores. Never an issue (other than the A35 cut out and 27.7v constant read out in 24v mode)

I OWN 12v 150w B4B (off brand batts. Love them)

have you tried to reset the PID for that larger and long build?

what about turning down the motor strength for tilt?

Understood.

When i rotate my gimbal handle 90° at a normal speed (pan it around the post), the sled slowly pans with it. In my experience of owning 4 other types of gimbals, this is too viscous for my comfort and experience for steadicam use. My other gimbal is not as affected when I move it like this.

Is there a solution to this?

I previously did a similar effect by loosening the screws on the cage of the body and not anything on the Trinity for safety reasons. I also death gripped the post and tried to shake the sled a bit when I could. Tighter lenses helps also to sell the look.

GIMBAL GRIP + POST FRICTION

Hello!

Mostly in cold weather, there is friction on the collar on the inside of the gimbal grip clamp and it prevents me from moving it up and down the post. It needs blunt force to free it from this “bite” or grip.

Any suggestions?

I have thoroughly cleaned it as well.

I agree. Mine is similar to yours.

It needs to be striped of lubricant and then add ONE drop of Arri oil, BUT… arri won’t release the instructions to service it yourself. I’m pushing them hard to change this mindset to compete with every other steadicam manufacturer out there. WE NEED IN-FEILD SERVICEABILITY!

I’m running the latest version of last generations firmware. I.E.not the current version that allows you to use the pan module. It worked all fine yesterday and this morning, but my AC said it turned off when she tried to move it off my dock.

Has anyone experienced their RCP 2-pin and 3-pin power connectors to not be able to power it? Only the CAN-BUS direct cable works, but I’m not able to fly it on my slide with my build today.
